Hello! I’m Kobiljon.
A technical lead and software engineer working on distributed systems. Right now I lead development on a platform for a client in the Netherlands, across Next.js, Prisma, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, and Kubernetes, and I mentor the junior and mid-level engineers building it with me.
I started in backend engineering, in Java and then Python, and spent a stretch doing DevOps at Universal Robots in Odense, writing CI/CD pipelines and provisioning infrastructure with Terraform. Along the way I founded eAdvisor, an automated academic advising platform, and raised $60,000 from a Palo Alto venture firm after being picked as one of ten startups from a field of 150.
I studied Software Engineering at the American University of Central Asia on a full scholarship, and I am now taking a Master’s in Computer Science at the University of Bern. I care about systems that stay understandable as they grow, and about leaving a codebase easier to work in than I found it.
